American Mosaic
Racism in Education
In the Spring of 2001, thirteen
students at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania participated in
a three-course study program entitled
The American Mosaic, in
Steelton, Pennsylvania.
The Mosaic engaged students
in an intensive community studies collaboration, which involved oral history
interviewing and archival research.
Students chose the topic in which
they wanted to immerse themselves in throughout the semester. I focused
on the degeneration of racism in education.
