Darrach Dolan is a fiction writer who received his BA from Trinity College, Dublin and his MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. After emigrating from Ireland, he lived in England, the Netherlands, and Australia before coming to the US. His latest story appears in the spring 2001 issue of the Blue Mesa Review. He has taught fiction writing at the University of Iowa and at Dickinson College and reads fiction for the Gettysburg Review. He is completing his first book of short stories, for which he has received funding from The Arts Council of Ireland.

Darrach is interested in contemporary fiction, post-colonial writing, and the writer as reluctant outsider. He is obsessed with football (soccer) and is willing to give strong opinions on the English, Italian, German, Argentine, and Dutch leagues.
