About the Author

Thanks for visiting my hypoxia site. The following is some background information on myself and why I created this site.

My name is Cassie Gurbisz and I am a senior undergraduate environmental science and studio art double major at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. For my environmental science senior seminar, we were assigned to create a website focusing on an issue faced by the Louisiana delta /Gulf of Mexico region. This site is the result of our assignment. My goal is to provide background information and research ideas for students who will be studying this area in depth through the Luce watershed-based integrated field semester that will be conducted by the Dickinson environmental studies department in the fall of 2005. I hope that Luce students as well as anyone else looking to collect information on hypoxia will find this site useful.
