You place into the following course:
Math 170: Single Variable Calculus (this course is offered every semester)
You can find the course description in the college bulletin.
You do not have to take Dickinson's mathematics placement exam.
It is difficult to leave mathematics for a year or more and then come back to it. If you think you will need a calculus course for your major or program (one of the sciences, economics, or pre-health) we strongly recommend taking it your first year, and preferably your first semester, at Dickinson.
If you are an international student or you have taken college level mathematics courses elsewhere and if you think that you should be placed into a higher mathematics course, contact the chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
