Golf Finishes 11th at McDaniel Invite
Arthur Worthington ’13 led the Devils with the team’s lowest score of 162, tying for 40th overall. Worthington shot rounds of 74 on Saturday and 88 on Sunday finishing +20. Teammate Tucker Joyce ’12 hit the lowest round on Sunday for the Devils, coming in with an 80 to bring his weekend total to 164, putting him in a tie for 44th with teammate Linn Worthington ’15, who shot a pair of 82’s. Classmate Chris Noonan finished right behind them with a 165 (82-83) for the weekend. Meanwhile, Mike Demming ’14 took home a 171 for the Devils to round out the team’s scoring after rounds of 90 and 81 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Noonan noted, “As a team we struggled tremendously with putting. It is hard to post good scores when putts are not dropping.” He also expressed that the team needs to take away the positives from the tournament, and that “collectively, I feel we hit the ball well. We need to take this to our next tournament and work some more on short game this week.”
The men will travel to Hershey East Golf Course to participate in the Blue Jay Spring Classic on Thursday, April 5.
