Dada Life Concert Fills ATS
The event opened with a performance by Joshua Lehr ’12. For 30 minutes Lehr warmed up the fledgling crowd before Porter Robinson took the stage 30 minutes later. By the time Dada Life began at 9:30 p.m., ATS was packed, with over 100 students crowding the main floor and lower seats.
In the spirit of Dada Life and their performance styles, dozens of students showed up to the concert dressed up in banana suits. The band, according to MOB member Sarah Rose ’15, also requested 12 pounds of bananas for the performance. Despite purchasing the bananas, the Swedish electro-house duo was prevented from throwing them into the crowd in their usual fashion.
Student reactions to the event were generally positive. ““It was a great experience,” commented event attendee James Post ’14. “I had never been to an electronic concert before so I didn’t know what to expect, but I ended up having a fantastic time.”
The performers themselves helped make the event enjoyable, both with their music and actions. “After the show, Dada actually stayed onstage for about twenty minutes taking pictures with the volunteers, signing autographs, and discussing the show,” said MOB Concert Chair Arden Baker ’14.
