Carnival in Tepoztlan

“I took this picture during Tepoztlan’s Carnival. Mexicans dress up this way in an attempt to imitate the Spanish conquerors. They dance to the rhythm of the drums, jumping and constantly moving their shoulders. Their garments are extremely elaborate, decorated with beads of multiple colors, and often times cost more than $2,000.”
