Green Devil Challenge Kickoff
September 21, 2009

Green Devil Challenge
Students perform during the Green Devil Challenge kickoff. Office of Sustainability staff members help students develop sustainable habits by e-mailing them simple, energy-saving tips each week during the eight-week program.

The Green Devil Challenge began with a kickoff celebration that rocked the Benjamin Rush campus.

More than a hundred students enjoyed live music, green-friendly giveaways and delectable food as they signed up for the yearly event.

An eight-week program, the Challenge enables participants to reduce energy and water consumption by helping them build sustainable habits into their daily routines. Each week, the Office of Sustainability e-mails to participants practical information about how to conserve resources. Students who respond to the e-mails have an opportunity to win a prize.

The Green Devil Challenge is one of several planned programs and activities aimed at helping students meet President William G. Durden '71's call to reduce Dickinson's energy and water consumption by 10%.
