Faculty Wind Quintet, Pianist to Perform
The Dickinson College Faculty Wind Quintet, joined by faculty member Eun Ae Baik-Kim on piano, will perform Friday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. in Rubendall Recital Hall at the Weiss Center for the Arts in Carlisle. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature the romantic Sextet in B-Flat Major, Op. 6 by Ludwig Thuille, Ravel's Tombeau de Couperin and Paquito D'Rivera's Aires Tropicales.
Musicians are contributing faculty members Mary Hannigan (flute), Jill Marchione (oboe), Elisabeth Stimpert (clarinet), Jeb Wallace (horn) and Kimberly Buchar Kelley (bassoon). In addition to their work at Dickinson, each musician maintains active musical careers, appearing with area orchestras, chamber ensembles and solo recitals. The ensemble’s repertoire includes classics of wind quintet literature, as well as contemporary works that explore current trends in the music world.
