MaFLA announces its presentation to Dr. Yu-Lan Lin of the Distinguished Service Award at its Awards and Business Luncheon on October 30,2004 in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. MaFLA chose Dr. Lin this year for her personal and professional dedication and commitment to foreign language teaching and for excellence in the promotion of learning languages in our schools. She is presently the Director of Languages for the Boston Public Schools and a MaFLA Past President. Dr. Lin is a tireless advocate for the
advancement of the Chinese language teaching; she was the president of
Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools (CLASS) and
was instrumental in bringing the collaboration between the College Board,
the federal Department of Education and the Chinese Ministry of Education
which has resulted in the Chinese Advanced Placement Course and Examination
for the very near future. MaFLA was honored to be able to recognize her
achievements and accomplishments. |
