Visiting Instructor of Swahili, Part-time position The African and African-American Studies Program (AAAS) and the Dickey Center for International Understanding at Dartmouth College are seeking a qualified individual to teach Kiswahili 1 and 2 at Dartmouth during the spring term (March 30 - June 9, 2009) of the 08-09 academic year, Kiswahili 1 or 2 during the summer term (June 25 - September 1, 2009) and Kiswahili 1 or 2 during the fall term (September 23 - December 9, 2009) of the 09-10 academic year.
Established in 1969, the AAAS Program at Dartmouth College focuses on the multidisciplinary study of Africa and persons of African ancestry, past and present, throughout the world. The Program is comprised of 20 faculty affiliates with expertise in history, literature, religion, geography, anthropology, music, government, theatre, and sociology. The AAAS Program offers an undergraduate major and several minors.
Established in 1982 to honor Dartmouth's 12th President John Sloan Dickey and his legacy, The Dickey Center is Dartmouth's international crossroads, where diverse cultures, knowledge bases and experiences are brought together to advance international understanding. We strive to foster an educational, open dialog on the vital international issues of the day, ensure that a rigorous understanding of the world is an essential part of the Dartmouth experience, and prepare students for lifetime engagement in world affairs.
