SANS, Inc/Mead Leadership Program

Educators of ALL LANGUAGES at ALL LEVELS are encouraged to apply to this program, designed to identify potential leaders in education and to support the development of their potential. The scholarship recipient will participate in the upcoming Northeast Conference in a program designed by NECTFL to foster leadership for the profession and includes registration for the conference, lodging and invitations to special conference events.  Contact your state foreign language association to apply!

Annenberg Media/Marjorie Hall Haley Graduate Student

NECTFL Conference Scholarship

The award is presented to one graduate student annually to defray expenses associated with attendance at the Northeast Conference. The recipient must agree to attend all conference events, and to provide a written summary of their professional development experiences while at the Conference within six weeks of the event.

NECTFL will waive the conference registration fee as well as fees for any Thursday preconference workshops the recipient may wish to take. NECTFL will also reserve and pay for a single room at the conference hotel for three nights (arrival Thursday/departure Sunday).  The recipient will receive a $500 check to help with travel and meal costs.  Application deadline December 1, 2009. In honor of 2007 Conference Chair Marjorie Hall Haley the Annenberg Media/Marjorie Hall Haley scholarship helps defray the costs of the Conference for one deserving graduate student.
This year�s recipient is Catherine Schwenkler, a Spanish teacher at the Grafton High School in Yorktown VA who is pursuing a Master of Arts in Education, Curriculum & Instruction at The College of William and Mary.
The Northeast Conference heartily congratulates Catherine Schwenkler and welcomes her to the NECTFL family!
