Our Activities
The Dickinson College Democrats exist to promote Democratic ideals, foster interest and activism in the political process and governmental affairs, and to serve the Dickinson College community. We also volunteer for political campaigns in local, state, and national elections and serve those campaigns on the Dickinson campus.
We hold voter registration drives, both on campus and in the community. Through outreach, we have widened our social network, both with new members and like-minded organizations in the area. Our project with Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg, the Central Pennsylvania Consortium Democrats, united the three schools' College Democrats organizations, and worked with a wider community in the entire central state area.
It is our purpose to educate ourselves and our community regarding political issues and governmental affairs, whether by debate, or by bringing speakers to campus with real-world experience. We also attend Democratic and political conferences, conventions, and meetings at the state, regional, and national level.
We will not endorse any candidate not selected by the Democratic Party, but our members are welcome to choose whatever side they wish, and we will provide as much information as we can.
Many of our activities involve the local Cumberland County Democrats. Click here for a map and directions to their headquarters in Carlisle, or click the logo to be directed to their website.
