Square One
   The Editors

Dear readers of the square,

Can you believe that spring semester is here already? Far gone are those great Winter Break memories of reconnecting with friends from home, bonding with the family over nightly dinner, and enjoying the nightlife in various tropical hotspots. Eh, who are we kidding – if your break was anything like ours, it probably consisted of sucking up to old friends in an attempt score an invite to the least lame New Year's Eve party, arguing over the remote with your brother, and a weekend excursion to that exotic locale known as Grandma's house.

So maybe it's not such a bummer to return after all. Now that we're back, we can take advantage of the best of what life at Dickinson has to offer. Though Groundhog Day and the Super Bowl are already over (Go Giants! Whooooo!), there is still plenty of February left to enjoy. Whether you're single or coupled up, Valentine's Day is the perfect time to learn about chocolate and try out some tasty recipes. If you're looking for a classier way to celebrate than a night out at the G-man, consider taking in some culture in the form of a play or wooing your beloved over coffee and conversation at Carlisle's newest restaurant, The Good Life Café. And don't worry about having something insightful and educated to discuss – Glassbooth's ‘Presidential Candidates' website has got you covered, even if you've spent more time watching MTV than CNN over the last few weeks.

If you're not quite ready to get back into homework mode yet, the square offers you a variety of ways to avoid those impending papers and exams. Prepare for Oscar night by viewing There Will Be Blood or Juno , or sample some new music by Baltimore duo Wye Oak. We've even given you some fool-proof advice for hitting up the hottest parties on campus. Whatever you do, be sure to put some effort towards promoting Mitt Romney's campaign efforts and help steer our nation towards a bright and prosperous future.

Stay warm and enjoy what's left of winter!

p.s. Will you be our Valentine? Circle Yes or No and leave your reply under our office door.
