Is it just us, or is the weather around here getting weirder and weirder? We wake up and the sky appears to be sun-drenched and warm. Happily we don our t-shirts only to be left shivering on the way to Denny by midmorning. It's bizarre, and it's really cramping our style.
At least the lingering cold is preventing an early onset of Morgan Field sunbathers and girls who seem to be confused about what constitutes a “skirt.” On a more serious note we do think the changing climate is a pretty worrisome topic. This month the square brings you....more

The Separation of Morality and Business

On Thursday, March 27 Dickinson hosted former President Bill Clinton. Turn out was large as many professors canceled afternoon classes so that students could attend and hear the former president's campaign speech for his wife. The doors to the Kline Center opened at 2:30 PM and although I was not there to witness the first comers to this event, I could tell when I arrived half an hour later that some people had been there for a while. Eventually, the front half of the Kline, where the speech was given, was crowded....more

Sustainability Update

One quick glance around the HUB reveals Dickinson College's recent turn towards a strategic focus on the topic of ‘sustainability.' From the pictures of the Student Garden hanging outside the cafeteria to the local produce stand downstairs; the Green Devil has clearly left his (carbon-neutral) footprints all over campus. Beyond the ad campaigns, buzzwords, and slogans, though, how much is the college actually doing....more
