Registration is required by Feb. 13. A $20 deposit is required on your bookstore charge for the lunch. It will be refunded upon your arrival at the Student/Alumni Networking Luncheon.

Networking Luncheon featuring Greg Osberg, CEO of Buzzwire (HUB Social Hall)

Juniors, seniors, Alumni Council members and alumni are invited to attend this informative luncheon.

Breakout Sessions #1 (featuring alumni panelists)

  • Successful Interviewing—Learn interviewing techniques to help you land the job you want.
    Making it in the Nonprofit World—Panelists will discuss networking for nonprofit careers and what it’s like working in the nonprofit field.
  • Gap Year Options—For those considering taking a year off before embarking on their career or enrolling in graduate school, this session will outline options, pros and cons, how to find opportunities, and what to do when the year is up.
  • Marketing Yourself to Employers—Panelists will discuss what employers look for in candidates and how to make yourself marketable.
  • Succeeding in Graduate School—Hear from alumni about how graduate school differs from college and how to be successful and competitive.

3:15-4:15 p.m.

  • Proper Business Etiquette—Discuss the rules of behaving professionally both inside and outside the workplace, as well as how to deal with workplace politics.
  • Making it in the Nonprofit World—What differences can you expect when networking for nonprofit careers? These alumni will discuss how they earned positions in top organizations.
  • Successful Interviewing—Learn interviewing techniques to help you land the job you want.
  • International Student Immigration—Learn about the process of obtaining an H1 visa and the necessary steps and timelines for both the student and the employer.
  • Comparing Job Offers—Hear about the types of benefits you may be offered, how to navigate the benefits processes and how to compare total compensation packages.

4:30-6:30 p.m.
Networking Reception (Comfort Suites Hotel)

This is an opportunity for alumni to speak with seniors about career goals and help them make contacts in their desired fields. Don’t forget your business cards!

*Business attire is preferred throughout the day.
